Medical Exam Glove Standards...?
Hi, I am new here and just found the forum using Google... Anyways, my girlfriend is a Hygienist and was telling me today how she thinks her employer is buying really cheap exam gloves and that they rip all the time... And ohh yeah, she has her hands in people’s bloody mouth's all day...!!! I came home tonight and tried doming some research but couldn't find anything... So at that, can anyone tell me if there are any standards that Exam Gloves must meet...? Or that the medical profession must use...? (meaning you can buy the junk ones to clean your garage but Doctors must use XYZ grade) Any information on this topic would be greatly appreciated... Finally, I asked my girlfriend if there are any exam gloves on the market that claim to be poke proof... Since she is using pointy objects, she said it's common to poke yourself and accident and sometimes go through the glove... I've heard of nurses doing this as well and was wondering if anyone came up with a solution for the problem yet. Thanks...! -"NewGuy"
