Test strips- "17" vs &quo...

My grandpa just started testing his blood sugar. He uses the OneTouch Ultra -Ultra smart test strips with the "15" code and just the other say he mistakenly bought the "17" code stripes. I've searched the web and can't find if this will change the results on his glucose readings? Can anybody help? Thanks

The strips can have different codes, and in most cases will have different codes. You will need to code your meter accordingly every time you get a new vial of test strips, for the meter to work properly. use the owner's manual for instructions on how to code the meter for new strips.

There are also meters that don't require manual coding, they code automatically, so you may want to get one of them for your grandpa.

Hope this helps!

From my expirience, you should let to glucometer to evaluate strip code, this is the best

I would also recommend a device, such as this CardioChek, that can test blood sugar levels automatically, especially for someone who is a bit older.
