Walker Ramp Rise?

Hello and good day,
I will be either purchasing and/or building a ramp for my Grandmothers house so that she can access it with her walker, she recently fell and broke her hip. Is the recommended rise on a ramp for a walker the same as a wheel chair? I read a wheel chair ramp should be about 12 inches for every one inch of rise but could not find anything specifically for walkers. Any recoomendations for purchasing a pre-made ramp? Any/all help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, take care, Rick.

Hi Rick,

It appears there is little difference but a couple considerations for walker ramps versus wheelchair ramps. Here are two websites that may provide some insight:
http://accessramps.ca/rampsafety.php
http://www.adaptiveaccess.com/handicap_ramps.php

Hope this helps.
