The Above post was changed (edited) so the content of this post may seem a little weird but it's still a good discussion point. DealCats Poses this as a true question, Whoever they are they have an on-line e-bay store and are just fishing for business. Not that there is anything wrong with that. :) Littmann is like a Harley! Ok, Just to be up front. I have an on-line store as well. It's new and we are growing daily. My Wife and I run the store and we have a few ideas about Littmann's Whats Best for a beginner? Sounds like a loaded question. The best thing for beginner and seasoned professional is the Stethoscope that offers the best quality. Missing diagnosis is not an option whether your learning or a savvy veteran. So I say the best Stethoscope for you isn't a lower to mid grade Stethoscope, but that isn't reality is it? Some stethoscopes are expensive and out of some buyers reach. Littmann's are good quality products but they are slightly hyped. Much like a Harley Motorcycle your buying a name more than a result. Some of the nurses I know are content to just pull a disposable steth off of the cart on the floor to do their daily duties. But that isn't really advisable either. If your Bill gates then buy best you can find. But if you are talking about what's affordable then by all means do your research. Look for quality and a style that you will enjoy sporting. There are many makers of fine quality Stethoscopes. Littmann, MDF, Mabis, Think Labs, Welch Allyn, etc. etc.. I have Littmann Stethoscopes as well as others on my site. To be honest as of today my prices on them is fair but not the best. Littmann (3M) doesn't establish minimum prices so the only stores that can provide the best prices are ones that do such a high volume that they can down right give them away. In some cases I cant even buy them for what some of these sites sell them for. The Littmanns on my site are more of a draw for customers to see my other products than they are for profit for us. In a matter of fact they have the lowest mark up of anything I sell. If it was left up to making a living off of Littmann's I would have find other venues to operate a business from. I am working on ways to make a little money off of Littmanns but that is my project right now. Littmans' are nice good quality stethoscope that most medical professionals deem desirable. Some have said to me they can pry my littmann from my cold dead fingers. But do they really perform any better than other brands. I'm not sure. In conclusion (Sounds like I'm a lawyer) Buy what you require, desire, deserve and can AFFORD! Quality is paramount. Scott Ward TheHealerStore.com <------Shameless Plug! Scott@thehealerstore.com P.S. I'm interested in what you think about Stethoscope Brands. So please respond so I can learn from your experience.
