equoment for spinal cord injured pa...

I have a patient in the hospital in Fort Smith Ar. that I am trying to find charitable funds or scholorships for equipment. This patient had a hemangioma removed from her spine in 1996 leaving her with quadriparesis. She has been vent dependent for 1 1/2 yrs, living in a vent nursing home. Since she has been at our facility we are starting to wean her and so far she is doing very well. We are working on trying to get a molded w/c for her, but since she has been placed in a nursing home medicaid will not pay for this. Her POA is working on donations. our ot is trying to find used equipment. This sweet lady is only 50 yrs old. The nursing home does not get her up in a wheelchair due to her head falling back We are trying to help her so we can improve her quality of life. Thank you, Jo anne Mc donald RNCM Select case management
