Any advice on best equiptment to use to care for my 42 year old husband who had a bad stroke leaving him paralized on left side.We cannot get into a rehab place because we had to turn to medicaid as my husband is the sole provider for a family of four.As I was informed physical theropy is a luxury and not a necessity in the state of Florida and medicaid is limited on what they will cover so he gets very limited amount of physical theropy and no occupational theropy. Thanks for any advice, comments, help, and sugessitions for day to day living

oh my god you sound like you are in the same situatation as mei am in tn and my husband had a respitory failure that gave him a major stroke.medcaid should provide more can you get state assistance medical on top of his medicaid?we have both.but both programs cover a hcbs waiver.home cummunity base waiver .that will help with bathing, cleaning personal assistant, home modifications and medical equipment.and a stroke is considered a brain injury.look up your local state brain injury acc.they have programs and personal grants that will help for the rest of his life. want to contact me write me at clavoie1226@aol.com
