Will I be charged sales tax when I purchase medical supplies online?

Most states require that companies collect sales tax from residents receiving merchandise in the states where the company resides. So if you purchase medical products online, make sure you take a quick look at the contact information for the company and find their location. If the location/state of the company is not the same as the purchaser location, in most cases, sales tax will not be applied. See Quill Corp. v. North Dakota. This law will probably change in the near future and will require sales tax on virtually all online sales. Just our opinion.
